Iga Świątek dokonała sporego rewelacji po powrocie do US Open, ponieważ Polka nie czuła się dobrze przez cały występ na Flushing Meadows w 2022 r., ale mimo to znalazła sposób na zwycięstwo, co pokazało jej, że może wygrać także w turnieju największą sceną nawet w tym stanie. Po wygraniu 37 meczów z rzędu w pewnym momencie między lutym a lipcem Świątek odpadł z grupy w 1/8 finału w Toronto i Cincinnati. A przed US Open 2022 było jasne, że Polka obniżyła swój poziom, co wzbudziło wątpliwości, czy uda jej się zaliczyć duży sukces w Nowym Jorku.

Ale kiedy nadszedł czas na ostatni Wielki Szlem w roku, Świątek spisał się i zdobyła swój pierwszy tytuł po pokonaniu Ons Jabeur w finale 6:2, 7:6 (5). Na drodze do zwycięstwa na Flushing Meadows w tym roku Świątek pokonał także Arynę Sabalenkę i Jessicę Pegulę. Jednak chociaż Świątek zdobyła główną chwałę, nie była tak dominująca, jak w niektórych momentach wcześniej w 2022 r. Co najważniejsze, w 1/8 finału przegrała setem z Jule Niemeierem, po czym wróciła i wygrała 2–6 6-4 6-0.

„Z pewnością w 2022 roku był to Wielki Szlem, przy którym najmniej się stresowałem. Mimo że wygrałem, w ogóle nie czułem się komfortowo na korcie. Może tylko… tak, nie miałem ochoty W ogóle nie czułam, że potrafię naturalnie grać w swoją grę” – przyznała Świątek na konferencji prasowej przed turniejem. „Więc głupio byłoby z mojej strony oczekiwać, że poczuję to w przyszłych latach. US Open 2022 nauczyło mnie, że mogę wygrać, nawet jeśli nie czuję się na 100%. Więc nie zrobiłbym tego. powiedz, że teraz jestem zrelaksowany, bo w Nowym Jorku nie da się być zrelaksowanym, zwłaszcza, wiesz, przy tym wszystkim, co się dzieje wokół. „Tutaj jest dość głośno. Na przykład w Cincinnati mogliśmy naprawdę się skupić i tak naprawdę priorytetem każdego dnia były treningi. Tutaj jest tak wiele zajęć poza kortem, że trzeba to mądrze zrównoważyć, a praktyka zawsze będzie priorytetem, ale masz też wiele rzeczy do przemyślenia”.
