“I am immensely proud to be your wife and can’t wait to..” Kylie Kelce assures Jason after his retirement
Jason Kelce praises wife Kylie in retirement speech: What to know about their family
Former NFL star Jason Kelce will be supported by his wife and their three daughters as he faces a new future in retirement.
Kelce’s wife, Kylie McDevitt Kelce, took to Instagram to congratulate him on retirement, writing, “I am immensely proud to be your wife and can’t wait to see what you do next. As always, the girls and I will be there cheering you on every step of the way!”
Jason Kelce gave a special shoutout to Kylie in his remarks on March 4, 2024, announcing his retirement after 13 seasons in the NFL.
“I think it’s no coincidence I have enjoyed my best years of my career with Kylie by my side,” the longtime Philadelphia Eagles said. “Every accolade I have ever received has come with her in my life. She has brought the best out of me through love, devotion, support, honesty, intelligence, and, of course, a swift kick in the a– from time to time.”
Jason Kelce also praised his brother, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, and their parents, Ed Kelce, and Donna Kelce, in his retirement speech, continuing a tradition of putting his family front and center.
The Eagles star has said previously he knew ever since he was a young child that he wanted to be a father.
In a post-practice interview from 2019, Jason Kelce recounted a story his own dad told him before he and Kylie Kelce welcomed their first child.
“I was reminded by my dad of a story when my brother was born. My brother [Travis Kelce] was [born] two years after I was … I was in the waiting room and stuff like that, and one of the nurses came up [and asked me,] ‘What do you want to be when you grow up?’ and I said, ‘Oh, I want to be a dad.’ So it’s kind of come full circle,” Jason Kelce said at the time.
