The family welcomed their second daughter and third child on Sunday, January 12
The Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes says he is open to the idea of more children, but says that’s off the table for now as the 29-year-old quarterback prepares for the AFC Divisional Game shortly after welcoming his fourth child.
Golden Raye Mahomes was born on Sunday, January 12 and continues the theme of metallic names for the family, who have a daughter named Sterling Skye and a son named Patrick “Bronze” Lavon.
Her birth came in the middle of the Chiefs’ NFL bye week in what was perfect timing for the Super Bowl winner as he can help his wife recover before taking to the field at the Arrowhead Stadium on January 18 against the Houston Texans.
Whilst he previously insisted on a three-and-done policy for parenthood, he has interestingly left the door open to an even bigger family but he insists that isn’t going to happen anytime soon.
“My goal was always three. So we’ve had three,” Mahomes told reporters in a press conference. “We’ll stick there for a while and see if we need to come back and get another one later on.
“It’s cool to welcome another baby girl in our family and see how our kids react to her, having baby sissy and stuff like that.”
Lovingly, the husband gave all the credit to his 29-year-old wife for “doing everything” as he says he is trying to support her in her recovery from labor and the early stages of their infant daughter’s life.
They announced the news of the deliver with a cute black-and-white photo of them holding hands near Golden Raye’s feet on Sunday, with a simple but power caption, “Golden Raye Mahomes 1/12/25.”
What time is the Chiefs vs Texans?
The Kansas City Chiefs and Mahomes are gunning for an unprecedented third Super Bowl in-a-row following successes against the Philadelphia Eagles in 2022 and the San Francisco 49ers in 2023.
After sitting out the NFL Wild Card round of the playoffs, the Chiefs will next be on the field on Saturday, January 18 at the Arrowhead Stadium against CJ Stroud’s Texans.
The game will kick-off at 16:30 ET/13:30 PT and will be broadcast live on ESPN/ABC.
