All eyes on Angel Reese’s ankle: Is she injured or can she play?
The talented LSU star points to her hometown for the answer
The LSU Tigers booked their ticket to the SEC Women’s Tournament semifinals in NCAA basketball by defeating Auburn University 78-48 on March 8 but the contest was overshadowed by an injury to Angel Reese. Can she play in the next round?
During the fourth quarter, the talented basketballer, who has Shaq O’Neal as a mentor, went down after appearing to roll her ankle and thus ending her game as her colleagues had to help her limp off the court.
With the Play of the Year for the conference potentially being out of action, that’s a big problem for Kim Mulkey to have to think about but fortunately she won’t have to as Reese says she’s fine to play.
“I’m feeling good,” Reese said to ESPN’s Brooke Weisbrod after the game. “It’s OK, I roll my ankle all the time so it’s fine.
“For sure, I’m from Baltimore. I will be there, I’m good.”
Reese left the game having notched up 18 points, 11 rebounds and three assists during the win as she once again played a pivotal role in the team’s successes.
Despite limping during her post-game interview, it seems as though they will keep their start player for when LSU take on Ole Miss on March 9, with the game available on EPSNU.
