“So we are going to be looking at Taylor Swift as a poet; going to be analyzing her use of literary devices like metaphor, looking at the way that she references other literature…” said Amanda Sladek, associate professor at UNK.
KEARNEY, Neb. — UNK is offering a new online course that has driven some “Crazier.” Your “Wildest Dreams” may come true if you’re looking for an elective as a Loper. The haters are gonna hate hate hate. A new course at UNK is getting quite the “Reputation.”
We know about a cruel summer, and getting back to December, but this fall there’s an eight-week online course being offered about pop sensation Taylor Swift.
The course will fulfill the humanities general studies requirement, and its components go beyond Swift’s music.
“So we are going to be looking at Taylor Swift as a poet; going to be analyzing her use of literary devices like metaphor, looking at the way that she references other literature, and also going to be looking at some of the media coverage surrounding Taylor Swift. So it is going to be fun but also really challenging,” says Amanda Sladek, associate professor at UNK.
UNK is not the first university to have a course about Taylor Swift. Harvard, Stanford, the University of Kansas, Florida, and many others have taken the Swiftie route.
