Swiatek reveals the changes she is looking for in her tennis: “I am not a complete player”.
Iga Swiatek is present for the fourth consecutive year at these WTA Finals 2024, a tournament she emerged victorious from in the last edition. The current world number 2 could reclaim that top spot in the year-end event, as she arrives following significant changes in her coaching staff. With a new coach and fewer matches in the Asian tour, the Polish player speaks at Media Day about her arrival in Saudi Arabia.
“That won’t be a problem,” Iga told the media regarding her lack of match practice. “I don’t feel rusty. I’ve played some points here with Aryna and Qinwen. I’ve also been training like that. I don’t feel like I’ve missed out much. Honestly, it wasn’t as long a break yet, probably a bit longer than a normal off-season. I’ve spent this time playing tennis and focusing on finding a new coach, on making this transition, which is always complicated. For me, it’s a decision that I hope will last for years, as I look at my career in the long term.
